We are pleased to say that our laboratory is now conducting antibody tests supplied by a global test manufacturer.
This test measures levels of immunoglobulin IgG antibodies in your blood which will tell you whether you have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the past. It is too soon to know whether having detectable levels of antibodies in your blood means that you have immunity to Coronavirus or, if you are immune, how long immunity will last. This test is not designed to tell you if you have a current infection, so you should not take this test if you are experiencing symptoms.
If you have not experienced any symptoms, but suspect you were exposed to coronavirus, you should take the test from 28 days after exposure.
If you have experienced symptoms, you should take the test from 21 days after the symptoms first started.
You can find out more about the test, its accuracy and why Medichecks has decided to sell a test here.
If you need any help to buy an antibody test for you and other family members, then please call us on 03450 600 600. We are open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday (Closed for bank holidays).
