County Pathology previously had its UKAS accreditation suspended while it developed and improved its QMS. The suspension was not related to the accuracy of its testing or methods, however we made the decision to move our tests to our second laboratory, TDL, while County Pathology made the necessary requirements to receive its UKAS accreditation again.
There have been no concerns about the accuracy of testing at County Pathology. There are several checks in place to ensure high levels of accuracy. The laboratory routinely checks accuracy throughout the day as part of the internal quality controls. They also participate in external quality assurance schemes which assess their performance relative to other labs across the country. Good performance on both measures is a key part of their UKAS accreditation. So, there are multiple ways in which they are monitoring and ensuring accuracy.
