I don't know when my postal collection times are.
You can find this information on Royal Mail's website here.
Can temperature affect my sample?
Extreme temperatures can affect blood samples. If a sample is exposed to direct sunlight, drops below freezing, or exceeds 36°C, there’s a chance it may become unusable. Our laboratories will notify us if your sample has been compromised by the weather, and we’ll arrange a repeat test if needed.
Where should I store my sample before posting?
We suggest storing your sample in a cool, dark place until it's time to post it. By "dark," we mean somewhere out of direct sunlight to help keep it stable.
I have taken my sample on either a hot or freezing day; what happens next?
We would recommend waiting as close as you can to your local postal collection time.
What if my test has a specific sample time?
Still, keep to the advice in your special instructions which will mention any specific sample times that you will find in your confirmation email.
If it is not possible to meet all of these requirements, don't worry but you may wish to wait for warmer/cooler UK temperatures to avoid the possibility of retesting. All tests are valid for 120 days from purchasing to allow time for you to complete your test.
