How does the nurse home visit service work?
You can select to have a nurse visit your home or workplace (as long as there is a suitable space to do this).
You would choose the ‘Nurse Home Visit’ option at checkout and we’ll put you in contact with our partner healthcare providers, Inuvi or Heim.
They’ll then contact you directly to arrange a convenient appointment and we will send you everything they’ll need to take your sample in the form of a Medichecks sample kit. You will also need to have a photo ID for when the nurse visits to take your sample. This can be a driving licence, provisional licence or passport.
How much is the nurse home visit service?
The nurse's home visit costs £59 per blood draw. Please note that this is charged on a per person, per draw basis.
Please also note that each person needs their own Medichecks account, as all tests must be purchased on the account of the person providing the sample.
When will the nurse contact me to arrange an appointment?
For Inuvi, they will contact you within 48 working hours of placing your order to arrange a convenient appointment with you. Please note in some areas we may not have coverage but we will be in touch and advise of your options.
For Heim, they will send you a text message shortly after your kit has been dispatched to arrange your sample collection. If you need to contact them, email hello@heim.health or use their live chat facility on their website www.heim.health after your kit arrives.
Does the nurse post my sample?
You can ask the nurse to post the sample back to us on your behalf, we have provided a pre-paid tracked envelope within the sample kit.
We recommend you schedule an appointment Monday-Thursday where possible, to make sure that your sample can be posted on the same day and reach out laboratory promptly.
Will the nurse have appropriate PPE?
Yes, the nurse will be equipped with the following:
✓ Alcohol Gel
✓ Gloves
✓ Sanitising Wipes
✓ Waste disposal bags
✓ Disposable Tourniquets
Which areas do you cover?

Due to the current climate, there are some areas where there are limited nurses available, but Inuvi will contact you as soon as a nurse does become available.
Nurse home visits to collect a venous blood sample are currently unavailable on the Isle of Man.
