Collecting your sample
Collecting your sample is straightforward, safe and hygienic. We only need a very small amount of poo for this test.
Please read and follow the instructions in the leaflet included in your kit.
You can collect your sample at any time of day.
Do not collect your sample while you are on your period (menstruating).
It’s best to collect from a normal, formed poo. If this isn’t possible, please speak to your healthcare provider before continuing.
How to collect your sample
To avoid your sample touching toilet water, place a few sheets of toilet paper in the toilet bowl, or use a clean, unused disposable container to catch your poo.
Twist the cap to open the sample tube. The tube already contains liquid preservative – do not empty this out.
Use the green stick attached to the lid to scrape your poo until the grooves are lightly covered. Only a small amount is needed – please don’t add extra.
Write your name, date of birth, and the date you collected the sample clearly on the tube. The laboratory cannot test samples without this information.
Returning your sample
Place the labelled tube into the pouch provided.
Put the pouch and the information insert into the transport box.
Seal the transport box inside the pre-addressed return envelope.
